The editorial shows complex working processes and evolutionary developments of different types of eyes in infographics. The focus is on the evolution of the human lensed eye.

On the first few pages the way of light into the eye, its processing by the retina and the following transportation as stimulus is described. With this knowledge, the different types of eyes are presented.

Every type is treated in one chapter and visualized by the example of a few animals. From a starfish and nautilus, there is a snail, chameleon, cat, eagle and some insects. The human lensed eye is presented in an extra chapter.
